Mhairi's Fundraiser Ball
Organisers and trustees surprised themselves with the success of the first Full Colour Trust fund-raising event, a magnificent gala ball held at the Civic in November, 2006. There was glitz and glamour galore, there were chandeliers, candles and music. The auctioneer was an expert and the volunteers processed sales like professionals. Artwork, jewellery and pamper packages were sold to willing buyers. Supper was served and the dancing went on until late. More than $80,000 was raised in one night and it paid for a full course of Herceptin for a young mother suffering an aggressive form of breast cancer.
